Find the readability of your site

JuicyStudio measures the readability of your site. They are using reading level algorithms like Gunning Fog, Flesch Reading Ease, and Flesch-Kincaid to determine how readable the content of a site is.

It is based on mathematical formulas, so it should be considered how accurate it is applied to writing style – they favour short words in short sentences.

Still it can be a useful thing to determine:

  • Gunning-Fox index – roughly how many years of schooling it would take someone to understand the content.
  • Flesch Reading Ease – it is measured on a 100-point scale. The higher the number, the easier it is to understand the document.
  • Flesch-Kincaid grade level – it is a rough measure of how many years of schooling it would take someone to understand the content.
I tried it on SFKPublishing.com with some interesting results.
