Social networking and e-commerce continue to cross paths, which leads to the development of recommendation portals like ShopSocially. Its idea is to get product recommendations from your friends and after buying something good – that you make comments on the product.
According to TechCrunch “the idea behind ShopSocially is that it brings your Facebook friends into its system, and you can choose which friends you’d like to “shout” your potential purchase to get feedback on the site. You can also publish your purchase to the site”
It was founded in 2009 and from the company say that so far more than 10,000 product recommendations have been created by friends in a few months since its launch.
As of 21.10.2010 ShopSocially received $1.1M series of funding.
